PMG Announces Launch of Extended Program and Collaborative Management

  • Unique approach to Program and Collaborative Management
  • Ensures visibility and control of program and project management benefits

28 April 2004 - Program Management Group plc (PMG), the program and collaborative management specialist, today announced the launch of Hydra 5 - Extended Program and Collaborative Management. This product supports a unique and integrated approach to enterprise program and project management, collaboration management, governance, investment analysis and benefits management.

Hydra 5 - Extended Program and Collaborative Management is designed to work in complex business environments where effectively managing a portfolio of activity across multiple functional units and business lines, with many stakeholders throughout the enterprise, is critical.

Peter Bondar, CEO of PMG, said: "We recognised the need for this product from the growing trend of organisations looking to reduce operational costs by improving the way they manage internal projects. This is because many are constrained by legacy, task-centric systems that are tucked away in Project Management Offices and lack the automated tools to effectively manage productivity and the utilisation of resources, enterprise-wide."

"In these environments you find disparate teams working hard to meet individual project objectives, but with no confidence that they are applying efforts to the most important areas for the success of the business, or being as responsive as business requirements change. Extended Program and Collaborative Management helps to drive enterprise-wide decision-making by formalising the prioritisation of projects with clear accountability for performance requirements, capital and expense allocation and tight management of resources."

Key to the success of Hydra 5 Extended Program and Collaborative Management is Hydra's patent resource centric scheduling technology. Its unique resource-centric approach enables it to manage the complex relationships between tasks, projects and their need for resources.

"By integrating the working community and their plans, Hydra 5 Extended Program and Collaborative Management enables organisations to continuously prioritise and monitor performance whilst maximising the output of scarce resources. This provides executives with greater visibility and control over their portfolio of programs and projects which compete for multiple, shared resources and responsibilities." added Bondar.
