Hydra Management - Our History

"Back in the late 1970's, our founders developed one of the first-ever Project Management Software applications for the microcomputer. They recognised that organisations were looking to substantially improve the management of their resources to gain that all important competitive edge. Today, Hydra is a third generation software solution designed specifically to address the issues of managing people, projects, programs and performance: removing departmental barriers, shortening timescales and breaking free from unresponsive and unrealistic task-orientated planning systems.

The Challenge

Organisations and their management teams struggle with relentless and opposing pressures; improving service levels whilst reducing costs; delivering quality products on time and to budget but using fewer resources; eliminating redundancy and duplication; planning for the future but reacting to the current needs of today.

This task centric approach relies on supporting techniques of critical path analysis and then for more complex projects, a 'consolidation' process, where all sub projects are combined to one master project. However, for complex projects, there are a number of limitations to these techniques which can result in gross errors, large amounts of manual intervention and unrealistic plans and schedules.
